Cranberry Pork Roast In The Crockpot

My wife and I needed a short break from our day-to-day life operating a retail store. Julie had the bright idea of staying for a couple of days at the Legs Inn on Lake Michigan in Cross Village (the name comes from the painted stove legs up on the roof, really).


It may be tempting to cook something new and fancy for a guest, though it is best to stick with what you already know you are good at. Whether it is for friend, family or employer, you want to present your best effort. Make sure you can offer your guests a pleasing, satisfying meal by preparing a menu of items you have experience preparing very well.


Generally, Americans eat too much meat. For a healthier diet, eat smaller portions of meat and select lean cuts such as pork loin in the crock pot or sirloin. Use slow cooking or marinade to make lean cuts tenderer. Remove the skin from chicken and turkey before cooking. Prepare lean meats with rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, peppers and cinnamon for a good dose of antioxidants. Studies have shown that diets high in cinnamon help regulate blood sugar.





Cut ribs into serving size pieces and brown in a skillet with canola oil; transfer to the crockpot or slow cooker and sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, celery, bell pepper, and onion. Place lid on cooker and cook on high setting for 4 hours or low setting 8 to 10 hours.


These pans are meant to contain large items, have easy grip handles and are made of metal. Some may have a non-stick coating and some may include wire inserts to keep the meat from touching the bottom of the pan. If you can find a roaster that looks as good as it cooks, then you've got a great cookware two-fer because it can go right from the oven to the table without any effort on your part.


Burns at a lower temperature in barbecue smokers than other smoking woods and thus, is an ideal choice for slow cooking. Subtly sweet, pecan can be blended with mesquite and oak. Suitable for poultry, beef and pork.


Another problem from being overweight that contributes to gout is not getting enough exercise. Most overweight people live sedentary lives. In fact, it is vitally important that you get enough exercise. When you are sedentary, it gives uric acid deposits the ability to settle in your pork loin steak recipe. This is why most attacks begin at night when you are sleeping. Your joints are at rest, and the deposits settle creating painful swelling.
