Slow cookers have come into their own in recent years and developing a knack for how to use them only comes, for most, with trial, error and time. I've had my slow cooker for upwards of two years now and as a family that regularly feeds six (plus friends and relatives) it has been a blessing and a learning curve rolled into one. To help you with your learning curve, I hope you enjoy the read as I share with you my top tips to help you use your slow cooker.

Tinned, frozen, juice not from concentrate and dried fruit and vegetables all contribute towards the 5 a day target. However, it is advised that you try to eat a 'rainbow' of colours when it comes to your 5 a day. Each vegetable and fruit contains different nutrients, vitamins and minerals vital to your diet: for example, an orange carrot is bursting with vitamin A, while leafy green spinach is packed with iron.

Open your pores with a little steam. A simple option is to hold a warm washcloth over the skin, but for a spa like steam, you can use a slow cooker slow cooker bolognese on high. Just pour a little water into the unit and turn it on. Lean over the cooker and place a towel over your head to trap the steam. You can even add essential oils to the water for a complete sensory experience.

When cooking in a crock-pot, keep in mind that rice and pasta are prepared in a different way. To get the right pasta consistency, it should be cooked in boiling water till it is soft, and then put into the dish in the final half hour of preparation. For an excellent product, people should make use of converted rice that is long grained. In case the rice is not properly done all the way through, you can put in about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of water for each cup of rice. Regarding beans they should first be boiled prior to being cooked in slow cooker bolognese a crock-pot.

I like to use a probe thermometer. Dangle it in the milk, making sure that it does not touch the sides or bottom of your crock pot. If you are like me, you may want to write down how long it takes for the next time.

In Britain we tend to stick to just a few meals every week, and our favourites include spagetti bolognaise, stew, sausage and mash, fish and chips, roast dinner, steak and chips, chilli con carne, burger and chips, chicken tikka masala, fry-ups and beans on toast. We do seem to like chips with everything!

Bergamo's, at 5250 International Drive, Suite 54 in Orlando, Florida. Pricey is the nature, up to $50 per person without tip. Call 407-352-3805 to reserve, or walk in risking an hour or more wait times. Dinner is served daily 4 to 10 pm. It is recommended to dress nicely, although the dress code says business casual. Bergamo's has won awards for its Italian Wine selections. The draw to this restaurant is the singing waiters!

Make no mistake, the Chateau is pricey, but worth it. Please note that the gratuity will be added to your bill. It's not a club. The Chateau is romance and heavy with history. So when you go if you can't go full bore for dinner; enjoy a glass of wine and a little bite or desert at the end of your evening or on a Sunday afternoon. It's an experience you don't want to miss. And don't fear the Chateau is happy to have you, provided you don't set anything on fire and you are kind to Pierre. The cuisine is continental and you'll find appetizers hovering around $15, entrees are $25 and above. Wines start around $10 spaghetti bolognese bowls cocktails vary widely in price. Making pulled pork for barbecue sandwiches is not a complicated task. Anyone can do it with the proper equipment, the proper ingredients, and a little bit of barbecue pit-master know-how. First, the equipment.

Follow the "HOG" all day throughout the city as all the festivities get underway. Click here for a detailed map of where you pulled pork dinner can catch this legendary piece of PBW history.

Combine the cider vinegar with the apple juice, brown sugar and reserved spice mixture. Mix well. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this liquid mixture for later use. The remaining amount will be used to baste the pork shoulder during the long cooking process; do this about every 45 minutes and turn the pork shoulder over at the same time. You want to cook the pork shoulder until it reaches an internal temperature of 190 degrees F; this should take about 8 hours. Remove the cooked pork from the gas grill and let it rest for 20 minutes, then shred with two forks. Place the bbq pulled pork coke slow cooker into a serving dish.

Redneck's Southern Pit Barbeque is not exactly a burger joint but who cares - you will not be disappointed. It is Kingman AZ's answer to Southern food. The pulled pork or pulled beef brisket "sammiches" are lip-smackin' good. The folks at Redneck's don't think twice about loading down your plate with a heap of BBQ, country style coleslaw and potato salad. Get over it if you would like to resist the food in this place. It is worth the drive over to Beale Street and the price is right.

To start off, we will work on some sandwiches. Just recently we covered the almighty "cheese steak" sandwich. For the game, you could make the cheese steak in advance and you could use mini sub rolls... stuff the rolls with the cheese steak and then wrap each one individually in foil and place in a 1/2 pan and place in a 250 degree oven. Your friends could just grab one whenever they are in the mood! Next, you could pig out (L.O.L) on my B.B.Q. slow cooker bbq pulled pork pork... again, this is great because you serve it out of the crock pot. This time you can get some of those little Hawaiian rolls or some potato rolls and make "Pulled pork sliders".

The ballpark version of the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich starts with the expected steak and cheese, and tops it with fried salami, fried onions, tomato, and secret sauce, all on a Kaiser roll. Named for Phillies Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt, right? Actually no. The sandwich originated at local McNally's Tavern, where a regular used to always order his Philly cheesesteak sandwich this way with a Schmidt's Beer.

Pour any remaining vegetable-rice mixture into the slow cooker or crockpot. Add the stuffed chops to the bbq pulled pork cooker and moisten the top of each chop with the tomato sauce. Pour the remaining sauce over the tops of the chops. Place lid on cooker and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until done.

I do have a couple of regrets with my experience with the Left Hand Smoke Jumper Imperial Smoked Porter. One is that I washed out the bottle. A force of habit for some homebrewers, like myself, that has robbed me of smelling the smokey residue of the empty bottle. Secondly I should have purchased at least 5 bottles of this delicious beverage and let it age a bit. The bottle I had was a couple of months old but I would be interested in tasting it a bit later. And finally, that after all this smokey beer talk I am dying for a pulled pork sandwich. Guess I know what I will be having for dinner tonight.
